T5 L2H1 by Gaspard Larsonneur, converted for surf trips and family travel

At Exokit, we design our kits to be true travel companions. When an athlete like Gaspard Larsonneur, a professional surfer and nature lover, entrusts us with his conversion project, we know we're going to create a van that's as functional as it is stylish. Here's a glimpse of the Volkswagen T5 L2H1 he now uses for his family trips and surf trips across Europe.

A complete conversion by VanStuff, in Quimper

To bring this project to life, Gaspard enlisted the help of the VanStuff team in Quimper. This trusted Breton workshop carried out a complete conversion, combining their expertise with Exokit flat-pack furniture, all captured by Robin Aussenac!

Among the services provided:

Installation of a pop-top roof
Installation of an approved bench seat
Installation of all plumbing (fresh and waste water)
Complete electrical circuit (auxiliary battery, lights, sockets, etc.)
Interior wood paneling and Exokit furniture

Customized Exokit furniture, adapted to practical needs

The interior of the T5 was fitted out with one of our Exokit kits, with several specific options to suit Gaspard's sporting and family use:

➤ A “Horizon Blue” finish

The visible surfaces of the furniture were laminated with birch plywood in our “Horizon Blue” shade, a soft and contemporary color reminiscent of the marine world. This finish provides a luminous touch, while remaining understated and resistant to intensive use.

➤ Adaptation for an XXL tank

This van is equipped with an XXL wheel arch tank, and our design office adapted the kit accordingly to optimize storage space without compromising aesthetics or modularity.

The result is a versatile van: compact enough to navigate anywhere, but equipped like a camper van, with:

A comfortable sleeping area
A functional kitchen
Well-designed storage
Complete energy autonomy
