Our Story
During his studies in a design office in the yachting industry, it was clear to Morgan that he needed to convert a van to spend his weekends by the water and enjoy every kitesurfing session.
This is where the first seed of the Exokit idea was planted.
2019: A New Beginning
Following the closure of the surfboard factory where they worked, Morgan and Raphael craved independence and rented a workshop together to have the space to carry out various projects: surfboard manufacturing, digital machining, etc.
In parallel, Morgan finalized the 3D designs for the conversion of his Fiat Ducato L4H2, with 6 travel seats and 6 berths, to travel with his family.
Meanwhile, Raphaël had just swapped his station wagon for a T5 L2H1.
2020: First meeting with a professional campervan converter
While installing the approved convertible bench seat in Morgan's van, a professional converter was impressed by the designs and the conversion project. This is when the idea, which had been put aside 15 years earlier, resurfaced: to manufacture furniture kits for van and campervan conversions. In the meantime, the purchase of a CNC machining tool had been initiated: scheduled departure from the factory on March 18.
March 17, 2020: An unexpected lockdown
A change of plans and the beginning of a first lockdown period delayed the arrival of the machine. A few weeks after its installation, the first piece of furniture was machined and shown to our partner at the time. Their extremely positive feedback reinforced our Exokit idea. The machine was up and running.
This is where the first seed of the Exokit idea was planted.
