Made from all-birch plywood, 100% PEFC certified: the best strength-to-weight ratio! Forget chipboard or poplar plywood, which don't stand the test of time. As well as being naturally beautiful, birch offers the best performance for screw pull-out resistance, bending, compression and impact.

Our dedicated finish, based on linseed oil and natural ingredients (solvent-free, VOC-free and rated A+ for indoor air quality: tested to the EN 71-3 toy safety standard), protects the wood for the long term, even against water splashes!

Yes, your vehicle can be type-approved with our kits, which are designed and built to professional standards. For example, we fit automatic mechanical catches on drawers and cupboards as standard (see the respective technical sheets) so they don't open on bends.

Good to know: beyond the rules on furniture, a successful type-approval also requires meeting certain (common-sense and safety!) rules, the most important being:

• High and low ventilation sized according to the vehicle's floor area
• A compliant gas installation
• A good-quality electrical installation (choice and sizing of equipment and safety devices)

At a minimum, you must have storage, a table, a cooking system and a bed, none of which can be removed without tools. As soon as one of these items can be removed without tools – a portable stove, for example – type-approval is neither mandatory nor even possible.

Just ask and we'll provide a scale drawing for your type-approval file.

Jigsaw, router, laser level… not familiar with these tools? Good news: you won't need them! Unlike most kits you'll find online, Exokit furniture fits the shape of your vehicle perfectly.

A simple screwdriver or a drill-driver is all you need to fully assemble our kits, using the special bit supplied. Assembling and installing a unit takes around half a day. Watch our video tutorial and see for yourself!

We put all our passion into designing and making the finest van conversion furniture, so we aren't able to offer a full conversion service. You can, however, find the list of partner van converters, chosen for their expertise.

Bench seats come with threaded inserts to screw into a wooden floor, plus thumb screws, so they can be fitted and removed easily. This frees up three-quarters of the vehicle's rear space for carrying a motorbike, a sofa or anything else…

Side units, on the other hand, come with wood screws for fixing into a wooden floor and self-drilling screws for fixing into the bodywork reinforcements at mid-height. This type of fixing isn't ideal if you want to remove and refit the unit regularly.

You can, however, opt for rivet nuts crimped into the bodywork and use thumb screws here too. Bear in mind that, as with any furniture, the more you move it, the more likely the joints are to loosen and weaken the whole unit.

Our flat-pack van furniture is divided into 40 cm columns, which matches the difference between short- and long-wheelbase vehicles. So, depending on the size of your vehicle, we add or remove a column of units.

Then, to fill the gap between the 40 cm columns and your van's openings, wherever possible we add rounded storage pockets, which are also one of our signature features.

Please note: the columns are 38.5 cm wide inside.

Our left-hand side units are compatible with 120 cm type-approved bench seats (mechanism included), which is also the size of our rock & roll bed benches (click-clack).

Please note: depending on the brand, you may need to choose a specific size. For example, for Schnierle SL3 bench seats, you'll need to choose the 114 cm bench seat (which measures 120 cm with the mechanism), not the 120 cm one.
