A long-wheelbase Volkswagen Transporter T6 converted with a special U-shaped bench seat for a crew cab

Here is an unusual yet ultra-functional conversion: a Volkswagen Transporter T6 L2 crew cab transformed into a van for both professional and leisure use. The HOMAD workshop in Saint-Brieuc installed one of our Exokit U-shaped bench kits specifically designed for this type of configuration.

A U-shaped kit designed for crew cabs

This U-shaped furniture consists of three modules: a left side bench, a right side unit, and a transverse bench at the rear that connects the two. This creates a spacious and comfortable lounge/dining area, usable directly in the vehicle's cargo area.

At the end of the day, this lounge easily transforms into a double bed by placing the table between the seats to create a bed approximately 160 cm wide by 190 cm long.

Clever asymmetry for added practicality

In this version, the kit is not perfectly symmetrical: the right seat is deeper than the left. Why? To integrate an 80 cm long pull-out drawer, capable of supporting up to 80 kg of load.

This drawer provides direct access from the outside to:

A retractable outdoor kitchen
Or standard toolboxes (Makita, Festool, etc.) for professional use during the week

A robust and aesthetic finish

For this conversion, we used Vicenza oak Egger laminate, a decor that combines resistance to use and a natural wood aesthetic. The whole is completed with custom cushions in turquoise blue fabric made by HOMAD, for a colorful and dynamic touch.
