Julien founded Roadstore in the Mayenne department, a stone's throw from Laval. Careful preparation before furniture installation

Before installing any furniture, Julien meticulously treated the vehicle's interior. A layer of cork was first applied to the bodywork to manage condensation and basic thermal insulation. On top of that, he installed charcoal grey felt on the pillars, wheel arches, and partition. This choice is significant: the felt adds a clean and uniform finish where cork alone would lack visual appeal, while also providing additional acoustic comfort.

On the floor, a flexible PVC covering completes the ensemble, robust, easy to maintain, and perfectly suited for regular or even intensive use. This attention to preparation is what guarantees the longevity of the entire conversion.

To trim the interior of the van, Julien installed our complete trim pack for Ford Transit Custom L1H1, in an oiled hint of white finish. This pack includes three elements specifically machined for this model:

The hint of white finish gives the interior a soft light and a noticeable sense of space in an L1H1 format. Combined with the charcoal grey felt on the pillars, it creates a subtle yet effective contrast, visually unifying the entire cabin.

The transverse cabinet: all the tech, zero clutter

Julien chose an Exokit transverse cabinet, positioned as a partition between the rear living area and the front of the van. This positioning is strategic in more ways than one.

First, it preserves a clear passage between the driver's seat and the cabin, which is a real everyday convenience, especially when stationary, to access the space without going outside.

Secondly, this cabinet concentrates all the technical aspects of the conversion:

• An integrated refrigerator for food preservation
• A small sink and an external showerhead, supplied by two 20-litre jerry cans for fresh water
• Accessible electrical outlets, connected to the onboard installation

Concentrating plumbing and electricity in a single cabinet is a sensible decision: maintenance interventions are localized, wiring remains neat, and the remaining space is entirely free.
