Citroën Jumpy XL Crew Cab converted by HOMAD: a versatile 5-seater van for the road and adventure
A Jumpy XL designed for daily life and getaways
The Citroën Jumpy XL crew cab is a vehicle appreciated for its modularity: 5 seats for daily use, while offering a generous rear volume for a van conversion.
In this project, the workshop HOMAD, based in Saint-Brieuc, transformed this Jumpy into a versatile family vehicle, capable of accommodating up to 5 people on the road and offering several sleeping configurations.
The client wanted a vehicle that was:
- comfortable for daily commutes,
- practical for traveling with 2 adults,
- adaptable for sleeping 3, 4 or even 5 people thanks to the front of the vehicle or a roof tent,
- optimized to offer maximum accessible and functional storage.
The result is a bright, insulated, ergonomic layout perfectly suited for families and active travelers.
Natural insulation and wood lining: HOMAD's expertise
Before installing the Exokit furniture, HOMAD carried out complete insulation work to ensure optimal thermal and acoustic comfort.
Sprayed cork + wool insulation: comfort all year round
The vehicle was insulated with two complementary materials:
- Soliège sprayed cork: reduces vibrations, regulates temperature, eliminates thermal bridges.
- Sheep wool: acoustic insulation, moisture resistance and all-season performance.
This combination makes the Jumpy XL pleasant to live in, even in mid-season or on cool nights.
Wooden side and ceiling linings
HOMAD installed a complete light wood lining:
- side panels,
- matching ceiling,
- insulated and treated floor.
This natural finish provides a warm and modern ambiance, enhanced by the softness of the light colors.
50 cm rectangular windows: light and ventilation
Two small 50 cm long rectangular windows were installed at the rear, left and right.
They provide:
- more natural light,
- better ventilation,
- a more open sense of space, particularly appreciated with the U-shaped bench.
These windows make the rear lounge much more enjoyable for everyday use.
The Exokit Crew Cab kit: modularity and comfort
A bright "hint of white" finish
The Exokit furniture installed by HOMAD is delivered in oiled plywood with a "hint of white" finish.
This light finish:
- maximizes brightness,
- blends perfectly with the wood linings,
- gives a clean and modern style.
A real living space thanks to the U-shaped bench
The particularity of the "Exokit crew cab" kit is its U-shaped lounge bench, which transforms the rear of the Jumpy into a versatile space:
- dining area,
- workspace,
- family relaxation area,
- support for a double bed.
The table, also in a light oiled finish, can be used:
- inside, for eating or working,
- outside, as a versatile camping table.
A great asset for families who want to enjoy the van both when parked and on a road trip.
Sleeping for 2 adults... and more if needed
The U-shaped lounge transforms into a comfortable sleeping area for two adults.
But the vehicle can accommodate up to 5 people thanks to two complementary solutions:
- mattresses adapted to the front seats for 1 or 2 children,
- roof tent for 2 additional adults.
Thus, this Jumpy XL becomes a family van, easily adaptable for group trips.
Optimized storage: rear drawer and Boxio compatibility
One of the major advantages of the Exokit crew cab kit is its full-width rear drawer.
In this installation, HOMAD made it compatible with:
- Systainer / Makita / Festool tool boxes,
- Euro crates,
- Boxio modules (Boxio Cook, Boxio Wash, Boxio Toilet, etc.).
The user can thus:
- transport their professional equipment,
- add a compact kitchen,
- store their outdoor equipment,
- easily organize their space according to their needs.
Specifics of 4x4 Dangel versions
On Citroën Jumpy 4x4 Dangel, it is not possible to keep the spare wheel inside the vehicle.
The Exokit kit is therefore designed to:
- leave this space accessible,
- allow for a clean and functional installation,
- integrate storage without hindering the mechanics.
An important detail, perfectly integrated by HOMAD.
A layout that evolves over time
This layout was designed to be evolutionary.
The client can:
- keep a large cargo area to transport bikes, scooters, outdoor equipment,
- use the lounge as a dining or working area,
- sleep 2 adults immediately,
- add a bench-bed later if her needs change.
A modular vehicle, ideal for families, athletes and travelers who want a practical van for everyday use and comfortable for travel.
