Rounded gas boxes for maximum space optimization

Exokit rounded gas boxes have been developed to address a common issue in van conversions: integrating a gas bottle while preserving maximum usable space.

Their rounded shape allows them to fit snugly against the bodywork uprights and confined spaces, where a cubic box would be penalizing.

Two distinct versions: B and D

Exokit offers these rounded boxes in two different geometries, identifiable by observing them from above:

Version B – front of side furniture installation

Version B is primarily used by van converters working on Renault Trafic.

It is designed to be installed completely at the front of a left-hand side furniture unit, as close as possible to the cabin, by utilizing space that is often difficult to arrange otherwise.

Version D – rear of side furniture installation

Version D is typically used on Volkswagen Transporters.

It is designed to be positioned at the rear, in the rounded storage compartment of Exokit side furniture for Transporters, where the bodywork imposes a specific shape.

Campingaz R904 cylinder compatibility

Both versions (B and D) are sized to accommodate a Campingaz R904 cylinder, as well as:

• the gas pigtail,
• the regulator.

Sealed top opening

Unlike the cubic box with a front opening, these rounded boxes open from the top.

The opening consists of a removable wooden plate, equipped with a peripheral sealing gasket guaranteeing the isolation of the gas volume.

The plate is held in place by a strap, allowing quick, tool-free opening, while ensuring reliable support during travel.

Designed for VASP compliant installation

Exokit rounded gas boxes are designed to meet the requirements of VASP approval:

• isolated gas volume,
• provision for the pigtail and regulator,
• possibility of making a Ø 20 mm hole towards the bottom of the vehicle for gas evacuation.

The hole is not pre-drilled to adapt to the floor configuration and the exact position of the box.

Please note: these rounded gas boxes are not compatible with side furniture integrating the large water tank that follows the wheel arch shape on Volkswagen Transporters.
