Special Bench Seat Kit for Extended Cab – VW Transporter T5/T6 L2H1 – Plywood
Bench seat specially designed for Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6 in L2H1 double cab version.
It forms a modular U-shaped lounge, fully convertible into a bed (185 × 165 cm).
Composed of three removable storage boxes (left, right, transverse), it is installed on the floor via 15 mm inserts and wing nuts for simple but secure attachment.
A lightweight table with legs (2 tubes + 4 aluminum cups) is included.
Sold as a kit, cushions and drawer(s) optional.
Our current lead times are 4 to 5 weeks for raw or oiled plywood furniture.
- Raw plywood: must be protected (sanded, varnished, painted, oiled, or other)
- Oiled plywood: can be cleaned with the soft side of a sponge. Oil can be reapplied to splinters. Does not require regular maintenance.
- Laminated plywood: same as usual kitchen furniture (sponge)

This Exokit bench kit is specially designed for Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6 in L2H1 crew cab version (2003 to 2024). Thanks to its generous length and rectilinear architecture, the Transporter is ideally suited to a convertible U-shaped lounge setup.
The three removable storage boxes – left, right, and transversal – allow for quick configuration of a dining area, a lounge, or a stable sleeping area measuring 185 × 165 cm. The entire unit is made of 15 mm birch plywood, which is resistant and lightweight, and attaches securely to the floor with 15 mm inserts and wing nuts.

The three removable storage boxes
The kit consists of three independent blocks:
- Left storage box — width 32.5 cm, integrated wheel arch.
- Right storage box — width 53.5 cm, integrated wheel arch, drawer option available on the passenger side.
- Transversal storage box — connects the two benches to form the U-shaped space.
Transforms into a 185 × 165 cm bed
Once the three boxes are assembled and the cushions are in place, the whole provides a wide, stable, and secure sleeping area. Ideal for long trips or impromptu nights in nature.
Simple and secure floor mounting
The mounting system relies on 15 mm inserts and wing nuts: a reliable, removable solution perfectly suited to the Transporter's vibrations.
Lightweight table included
The kit includes a lightweight table and its support elements:
- 2 aluminum tubes
- 4 aluminum cups
The table can be installed in just a few seconds to create a dining or office space.
