Custom ceiling for Ford Transit Custom L1H1 MK1, cut from 5mm poplar plywood. 2 parts (front + rear) with engraved pre-cuts on the back — dome light, cables, bulkhead. Raw or oiled finish.
Our current lead times are 4 to 5 weeks for raw or oiled plywood furniture.
- Raw plywood: must be protected (sanded, varnished, painted, oiled, or other)
- Oiled plywood: can be cleaned with the soft side of a sponge. Oil can be reapplied to splinters. Does not require regular maintenance.
- Laminated plywood: same as usual kitchen furniture (sponge)

Transit Custom MK1: a precision template
The Ford Transit Custom MK1 (first generation, 2012–2023) has a roof with well-defined reinforcements that lend themselves perfectly to direct screwing. This ceiling is CNC cut in our Breton workshop to the exact template of the MK1 L1H1 – the short version.
Engraved pre-cuts
The locations for the ceiling light, cable duct, and partition are engraved on the back of the panels. These markers allow for quick and accurate work, whether it's drilling a spotlight hole or marking out the path for a technical duct.
Material: 5 mm poplar
Lightness and ease of work are the two main advantages of poplar for installation in the Transit Custom. Its low density (approximately 3 kg/m² for the 5 mm) does not compromise the vehicle's payload.
Insulation and installation
First, insulate the roof (rock wool recommended for professional vans - good thermal and fire resistance). Position the panels dry, adjust the clearances, screw into the ribs with 3.5×25 mm self-drilling screws. Recommended spacing: 25 cm.
Technical questions
Is this ceiling compatible with the MK1.5 (2018 facelift)? Yes, the facelift did not change the interior dimensions of the roof.
How to manage the transverse reinforcement bar in the middle of the ceiling on some MK1s? The bar can be kept and the ceiling cut to frame it, or removed if it is simply clipped. Check before intervention.
Oiled or raw finish for professional use? A raw finish is recommended if you want to paint or cover the ceiling with a specific material (carpet, PVC, acoustic fabric).
